What is Dumb Ways to Build?

A physics-based co-op builder from the Dumb Ways to Die team at PlaySide. Up to four Beans take on dangerous construction jobs, nailing together bridges, ramps and platforms out of whatever is lying around to reach the objective. It launched on 10 September 2026 on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Is Dumb Ways to Build the same game as Dumb Ways to Die?

No. Dumb Ways to Die is the 2012 Melbourne rail-safety video and the phone games that followed. Dumb Ways to Build is a separate, paid co-op game in the same world, with the same Beans. Dumb Ways to Party is a third, different game announced for 2026.

Three Crisis Jobs at launch: Hotel Hapless, Drain Strain and Crane Climb, each with a Normal and a Master Builder version. A developer confirmed there is no procedural generation and said new Jobs will come in post-launch updates.

How long does Dumb Ways to Build take to beat?

A four-player stream crew finished all three Jobs on Normal in about two and a half hours, with plenty of messing about. The time trials are 20, 25 and 30 minutes per Job, so a focused crew is faster. Master Builder, zero-death runs and hidden certifications add replays.
