FAQ
What is Dumb Ways to Build?
A physics-based co-op builder from the Dumb Ways to Die team at PlaySide. Up to four Beans take on dangerous construction jobs, nailing together bridges, ramps and platforms out of whatever is lying around to reach the objective. It launched on 10 September 2026 on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Is Dumb Ways to Build the same game as Dumb Ways to Die?
No. Dumb Ways to Die is the 2012 Melbourne rail-safety video and the phone games that followed. Dumb Ways to Build is a separate, paid co-op game in the same world, with the same Beans. Dumb Ways to Party is a third, different game announced for 2026.
How much does Dumb Ways to Build cost?
$7.99 USD on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox. A developer said there is no launch discount outside bundles; the DUMBANANA! Bundle with BOMBANANA! takes an extra 10% off when you buy both.
How This Wiki Is Kept
Dumb Ways to Build Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource for Dumb Ways to Build players — not affiliated with Dumb Ways to Die (PlaySide).
- How we verify: job objectives, certification lists and item names come from Steam's own data, PlaySide's support centre, developer replies on the Steam forum, and launch-week videos named with their dates. Anything seen only on a stream is labelled as such.
- Update cadence: certification unlock rates and Steam review counts are re-read weekly, and every PlaySide patch note or new Job is checked against the jobs and tools pages within two days.
- What we don't do: there is no tool tier list and no score of our own. We cannot play-test the game, so we do not invent routes, rank tools or guess what the hidden certifications ask for.
